The menu is broken down into program chapters (or modules)
Click on any item in the menu to open that chapter
Each chapter is divided into sections
Click on any section to launch
Note the icons to the left of the menu items.
A blue diamond means that the section has not been viewed yet.
A yellow circle means that the section has been viewed but not completed
A green check-box means that the section has been completed
Notes
The “Notes” item allows you to add notes to each section (or module) level, meaning that for each module you can add notes to remind yourself about important details or clips within that module. You can return to these notes and add at any time. You can also add hyperlinks to the internet from here if you want to add your own links.
Preferences
The Preferences item allows you to set your preferences for how the interface works including:
Tooltips
Set “Tooltips” (the text explanation that appears when you hover over interface items). The default is to have this turned on.
Audio
Set “Audio” (you can turn off the audio so that there is no sound to the course). We don’t highly recommend this as the audio portion is very important to the understanding of the content.
Bookmarking
Set “Bookmarking” (the ability to come back to the point where you last exited the course. The default for this is turned on, so that you automatically return to the last visited clip. If you would like to return to the beginning of the course you can do so by using the mneu, or at any time, you can change the preferences so that it automatically brings you back to the beginning each time
Search
The Search item allows you to search for content within the course. This is a very handy feature as you can type in a word or words and the results will return with all clips related to that word. The results window shows you a brief capture of the text related to the clip. You can scroll through this list to find the text closest to your interest. Clicking on the text brings up more detailed text and a link to the clip. Clicking on the link brings you to that section and clip. If you decide you would rather return to where you were you can simply close the search feature box.
Drop Down Menu
The drop down menu area serves two purposes. It tells you the section and the clip you are presently viewing and it allows you to quickly jump from clip to clip.
Rich Media window
The rich media window is where all video, animation and audio occurs. There is a control bar below the rich media window that allows you to pause the animation/video, or scroll through the video to find a particular spot. You can also reduce the audio or mute it. If you mute the audio here it only affects the current rich media piece. Remember if you want to turn it off for everything you must do so at the preferences level.
Exercise Area
Below the Rich Media area you will see exercise content. This could be text related to the rich media, or an exercise or activity that allows you to test your knowledge on information you have learned.
To the right of the Exercise Area you will see a forward and backward button. The forward button to move on through the course work and the back button allows you to review the previous clip.
Just to the right of these buttons you will see a print button. This allows you to print the Rich Media and Exercise portion along with the drop down menu at the top.
